The July 2015 Pickleball Canada Eastern Nationals are in the record books. I’ve heard that both the West and East events were huge successes with a combined total of 550 players who traveled from all over to attend. We all know how fast this sport is growing so having two Nationals allowed more play which certainly improved accessibility and made it a more tangible reality for more players!
I was lucky enough to attend the FIRST EVER Canada Nationals (West) in 2012 in Abbotsford, British Columbia. It was my first time to Canada and I was happy to meet so many new friends including tournament directors the Shepherd family. In 2015 the West is in their fourth year and the East created their first Nationals held in beautiful Waterloo, Ontario.
I finally gathered up some time and put together this video highlighting some of the entertaining play of the Men’s Exhibition Match which kicked off the three day event. In the video you’ll see players, fans and some photos of fun.
Enjoy the moments, and many thanks to the Canada players—you were great hosts. See you next year; just not sure which coast.

Thank you Jennifer for taking the time to view all of that footage and to post it. It is such a pleasure to play with such a down to earth professional as yourself!!
Brian Staub and Phil Bagley are gentlemen as well as championship players. And they know how to put on an exhibition: play hard, but give the local a talent a chance to shine in front of their hometown fans and friends. What a world class act.
