Seattle, Washington Pickleball Visit

On July 13, 2015, Alex Hamner and I caught the plane from San Diego at 6:00am and headed to Seattle for pickleball. We rented the cheapest rental car they had – see the bright colored muscle car below 🙂  and headed to play pickleball with friends at Edmonds Yost Park at 11:45am. Wow, that is a beautiful park!

Coming from drought areas of San Diego to playing in a park dense with trees and green.. so cool! For those that love trees and pickleball, we played among the mixed stands of western red cedar, red alder, big-leaf maple and western hemlock trees. Too bad we only had a few hours to play…

Then off to lunch with friends at Ray’s Boathouse in Seattle. Next, some unplanned fun landed us on a private boat tour of Lake Washington – yes we checked out beautiful homes including Bill Gates’ house – did you know Bill’s dad loves pickleball?

“Oh the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done! There are points to be scored. There are games to be won. And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winning-est winner of all.”  ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

Pickleball can take you to new places that are not even planned. This was day one of fun; next stop was Bainbridge Island….  See next blog post…
